Inside the Circle — meet Anna!
Here at Funding Circle, we firmly believe that our amazing team is what makes our company so special. That’s why we created this new series to help you get to know the people behind Funding Circle.
We’re kicking off the series with a person near and dear to our Resource Center — Anna, one of our content marketing managers. She’s been at Funding Circle since August 2016 and is responsible for a lot of the well-worded and grammatically correct sentences on our site. Learn more about Anna below!
What do you do at Funding Circle?
I write and develop strategy for newsletters, downloadable guides, blog posts, web copy, and other marketing materials.
What’s your favorite thing about working at Funding Circle?
I love the people — we have such a wide variety of professional backgrounds, from traditional finance to tiny startups to big tech companies and beyond. Everyone’s incredibly generous with their time and willing to chat about their experience and projects they’re working on.
What does “made to do more” mean to you?
I think it’s about aspiring to achieve — that whatever it is you want to do or accomplish, believing that the means to see it to fruition is within your reach. There’s a drive in it, but also a scrappiness.
If you could start any small business, what would you sell/offer?
Books! I love ebooks and the convenience of delivery to my doorstep, but I think there’s something irreplaceable about a physical space for books. I’d love to run a bookstore with all these different nooks where you could sit and read, buy a drink (tea or wine or Old Fashioned — whatever), and attend readings, signings, or other literary events.
What’s your favorite small business to frequent?
There are a lot of amazing locally owned businesses here in San Francisco. I’m a huge fan of The Booksmith, Pause Wine Bar, Tattoo Boogaloo, and Sockshop Haight Street.
What was the first thing you wanted to be when you grew up?
