A look inside our first ever broker summer party

We’re pleased to announce that we hosted our first ever summer party for our brokers on Wednesday 19 July, so we could continue to nurture our relationships and relax together after a busy first half of the year. 

Held at the Kia Oval, a number of brokers and specialist press contacts from the NAFCB and Business MoneyFacts joined us for an insightful and fun event at the south London home of cricket. 

The day began with a drinks reception and welcome speeches from our team, before Ex-England cricketer turned sports psychologist, Jeremy Snape took to the stage to give a keynote presentation – addressing the benefits of a growth mindset, and how to thrive under pressure. This was then followed by a Q&A, where guests learnt more about his career and sports insights, which was held over a delicious BBQ and plenty of drinks to continue the day.

For fans of cricket there were tours of the stadium available, which were a hit with many of our guests. We visited the Museum, Honours Boards and Long Room, homes to the oldest cricket bat in the world and photos of players from as far back as 1948. We then visited the Committee Room, which features an impressive portrait of King Charles III, as well as the Away Changing room at the end. 

As a result of Jeremy’s speech, everyone in attendance also received a complimentary two-month subscription to his Sporting Edge platform, which combines stories from world-class performers with psychological research to create learning and development experiences for teams. 

The day went down a storm with both our teams and the guests. Our Sales Director, Matt Barton, said: “What a fantastic day at the Oval for the inaugural Funding Circle summer party! Myself and the team really enjoyed the opportunity to get together with some of our most valued brokers to celebrate our working relationship and everything they do to support their clients day in, day out. 

“Our guest speaker, Jeremy, really hit upon some key topics around how to establish and nurture the right mindset in your team and we came away with some really tangible actions from the day. Thanks to all those who attended, we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did and look forward to the second edition in 2024.”
