A round-up of our broker events in November 

November has been a jam-packed month for our broker team, who attended a number of exciting events with some of our most valued brokers. Here’s a round-up of what they’ve been up to.

NACFB Patron Awards 2022

We were delighted to win two awards at this year’s NACFB Patron Awards Gala Dinner, which was held at the Westminster Park Plaza on Thursday 24th November. With the awards celebrating the best collaborations between brokers and lenders, we were really proud to be named both Unsecured Funder of the Year, as well as Socially Responsible Lender of the Year. 

A big thank you to all of our brokers and teams, without whom this wouldn’t have been possible, as well as to the NACFB for setting up such a fantastic event. Our team had a brilliant time celebrating their success and that of their peers around the country. 

NACFB Funding Future Growth Northeast and Scotland 

The NACFB Funding Future Growth event enables brokers to network locally, interact with the Funding Circle team and find out how we can help their clients – and after a few years of virtual events, it was great to attend one in-person on 17th November. 

Hosted this year in Newcastle, we chatted to brokers and other lenders about the appetite and pricing in the current economic climate, as well as their experience with business finance overall. 

One of our brokers said: “There was a good variety of lenders and exhibitors there. As a broker, I find these events useful as it gives us a chance to meet with a series of lenders in quick succession (an efficient use of our time), as well as getting an update from some relevant market commentators and the NACFB.” 

Northampton vs Barbarians at the Premiership Rugby 

As part of our new sponsorship of Premiership Rugby, we were also able to take some of our brokers to watch Northampton Saints vs Barbarian F.C. at the cinch Stadium on Saturday 26 November. 

It was a really entertaining and competitive game, with a final score of 45-39, and it was a great opportunity to be able to catch up with our brokers from across the country. One told us: “We really appreciate being invited to such events and spending time with all of the team at Funding Circle. The event itself was great, and it was good to be able to do this close to home here in Northamptonshire!” 

We’re hoping to host more of our brokers at Premiership Rugby games in the future, so watch out for updates on this. 

The AltFi Awards 2022

This one isn’t a broker event, but Funding Circle won another prestigious award this month that we wanted to share. Our CEO, Lisa Jacobs, won CEO of the Year at the AltFi Awards, which celebrate Europe’s leading alternative finance and fintech businesses. 

The judges said of Lisa: “Becoming CEO after a founder-CEO is hard enough, but doing it in the midst of a pandemic is an incredible achievement and testament to her commitment and drive.” 

This is an incredible achievement, so a huge congratulations to Lisa for her contribution to the sector.
