Our work supporting people who are homeless with NikshamSWAT 

At Funding Circle, contributing to the community is a crucial part of our values – which is why we’re proud to have been named Socially Responsible Lender of the Year at the NACFB Awards 2022. One of our most successful projects over the last year is our work with NikshamSWAT, so we wanted to give you an overview of what this involves. 

NikshamSWAT is a London-based charity that supports disadvantaged communities across the UK. We work with them on their Homeless Project, which provides food and hot drinks to people who are homeless or have nowhere else to go. 

We’ve taken part in 7 sessions so far, with 26 members of our staff volunteering at their food site on the Strand in London. NikshamSWAT were also our charity of the year, meaning proceeds from our IT Charity Laptop Scheme went to them, as well as the funds from smaller fundraising events we’ve run in the office. We’re proud to say that this work has raised almost £32,000 for this incredible charity. 

In 2023, we’ll be joining the team on the Strand to feed people every third Wednesday of the month. We look forward to seeing the impacts of this work and helping even more people going forward.
